Hawks is a character from the anime My Hero Academia. He is a pompous and vigilant hero who can easily be identified by his quirk, fierce wings which take the form of two giant red wings on his back. I instantly fell in love with his character and had to cosplay him. To make the wing, I used cotton fabric, 12 gauge wires and loctight glue to make the feathers. The feathers were then screwed into the pvc wing frame base and string was used to connect them all. A 12V linear actuator was mounted to each wing frame and then attached to a 12 v battery to make them move up and down. Primary real feathers were attached to felt and covered the pvc wire frame. More real feathers were used to decorate the secondaries to hide the wire. The jackset was made out of a khaki suede fabric, lining, and trim and was hand patterned and made by me. The shirt was made out of a four way stretch fabric and I used iron on vinyl to make the yellow design.
